Shape History

Shape History, a social change company, conducted an experiment with George Hankers, a man who is living with HIV in London. HIV+ activist Hankers was blindfolded in Trafalgar Square with a sign saying ‘I’M HIV+’ in big, bold letters.

The blindfold is a metaphor for the difficulties that he sometimes faces. People were given the opportunity to write their messages of support and hope to those people living with HIV, in order to gauge Londoner’s reaction to being confronted by someone living with the illness.

Hankers is behind the ‘Still Human Blog’ which aims to end the HIV stigma as well as educate, prevent and support those suffering with HIV.
